About Us
Thanks for visiting our site. This blog is a joint effort between mother and son and documents our family’s journey to food freedom through the Tolerance Induction Program (TIP). It has been a difficult journey thus far, but we are already seeing the hard work pay off!

About Jesse
I am an 18-year-old high school senior and started the TIP during the summer of 2022 before my sophomore year. My food allergies are to eggs, peanuts and shellfish. I created this blog to document my experience in the TIP and to show how TIP is changing my life for the better. Even though I have not finished the program, it has already given me freedoms that I’ve never experienced before in my life. I can now eat and enjoy foods that I have watched friends and family eat for the last 17 years, and it is an amazing feeling. This freedom is what has helped me persevere and stick with the program even when things get difficult.
In my free time, I like hanging out with friends, being outside, and playing/watching sports. When travelling to Southern California for appointments, my family and I have enjoyed site seeing, playing golf, going to sporting events, and hiking in national parks.
About Danica
I’m a wife and mother of two and have been a stay-at-home mom since Jesse’s food allergy diagnosis at 18 months. Staying home seemed to make the most sense since we were uncomfortable putting Jesse’s care in someone else’s hands. This allowed me to take on the role of class parent and supervise every on and off campus field trip and party once he was of school age. I worked with his pre-school and elementary schools to create a safer environment by assisting them in developing food allergy policies. As a parent, it has been difficult to watch Jesse be excluded or unable to participate in activities. As he has gotten older and more independent, our fears of an allergic reaction have grown, particularly as he gets closer to going off to college. We were fortunate enough to hear about the TIP through another classmate while Jesse was a freshman in high school. Over two years into the program, we are starting to reap the benefits of what has been a stressful and sometimes tedious process. We hope documenting our experience will help other families.
