My first appointment at the Southern California Food Allergy Institute (SCFAI) was in July of 2022. They refer to this initial appointment as on-boarding when they perform blood tests and skin prick tests. The Tolerance Induction Program™ (TIP) is a food allergy treatment program that helps children and young adults overcome their severe food allergies. With the TIP, patients build a tolerance to their allergens through the escalation of food proteins similar in structure to their allergens (biosimilar proteins).
